Utah No Smoking Signs
Utah Relevant Statues
U.A.C. R392-510-12:
"No Smoking" signs or the international "No Smoking" symbol, consisting of a pictorial representation of a burning cigarette enclosed in a red circle with a red bar across it, shall be clearly and conspicuously posted at every entrance to every public place and place of employment where smoking is prohibited by this part by the owner, operator, manager, or other person in control of that place.
Under the Utah Indoor Clean Air Act (UICAA), "smoking" includes not only combustible tobacco products but also vapor products and hookah. This law bans smoking in nearly all government and private businesses across Utah (refer to Utah Code § 26B-7-503 and Utah Administrative Rule R392-510). According to Utah Administrative Rule R392-510-11(6), if smoking is permitted throughout an entire premises, the building owner, agent, or operator must clearly display a sign stating, "This establishment is a smoking area in its entirety," or a similar message. Additionally, the UICAA and Utah Administrative Rule R392-510-11 require that: (a) Signs be posted inside the exit of each smoking-permitted area leading to a smoking-prohibited area; (b) These signs feature the text "Smoking Not Permitted Beyond This Point" or comparable wording; and (c) The international no smoking symbol be displayed.
