Face Masks
Face Masks and Respirators protect workers from inhaling harmful airborne particles, dust, fumes, and pathogens across a wide range of industrial and construction environments. Our collection includes disposable filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs), reusable half-face respirators with replaceable filter cartridges, and disposable dust masks for general particulate control.
NIOSH-approved N95 respirators filter at least 95% of airborne particles and are required for work involving silica dust, asbestos, mold remediation, certain chemical exposures, and healthcare settings. Our KN95 and N95 inventory is stocked for both single-use and work-shift duration applications. For more hazardous environments — painting booths, chemical processing, oil mist — half-face respirators with P100 or OV/P100 cartridges provide superior protection.
All respiratory protection must be part of a written Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 when worn to protect against occupational hazards. We provide product specifications, fit testing guidance, and filter change schedules to help safety managers build compliant programs. Construction dust masks and disposable safety masks are also available for lower-hazard general use.
Face Masks FAQs
What is the difference between an N95 and a KN95 mask?
Both filter at least 95% of airborne particles, but N95 is the US NIOSH standard, while KN95 is the Chinese GB standard. N95 masks are NIOSH-approved and are the required standard for OSHA respiratory protection programs in the US.
Do workers need fit testing for N95 respirators?
Yes. OSHA requires annual fit testing for all tight-fitting respirators used to control occupational exposures. Fit testing ensures the respirator creates an adequate seal against the wearer's face. Qualitative (smell/taste) and quantitative (pressure measurement) methods are available.
How long can a disposable N95 be used before replacement?
NIOSH recommends replacing N95 masks when breathing resistance increases, the mask becomes damaged or soiled, or the seal is compromised. In non-contaminated environments, extended use guidance allows up to 8 hours of use across multiple donnings before disposal.
Are construction dust masks the same as N95 respirators?
No. Many disposable dust masks are not NIOSH-rated and provide significantly less protection than a certified N95. If your work exposure requires respiratory protection under OSHA standards, use only NIOSH-approved respirators.
