Safety Rainwear
Safety Rainwear keeps outdoor workers protected from rain, wind, and cold while maintaining the high-visibility compliance required on active job sites. Unlike consumer rain gear, our work rainwear integrates ANSI/ISEA 107-compliant fluorescent panels and retroreflective tape directly into waterproof and water-resistant outerwear, eliminating the need to wear a safety vest over rain gear.
Waterproof ratings and seam-sealed construction prevent water ingress during extended downpours, while breathable membranes on premium models reduce interior condensation for all-day comfort. Packable designs allow jackets to compress into chest pockets for easy storage when weather changes.
ANSI Class 2 and Class 3 configurations are available to match the visibility requirements of your specific work environment. These garments are ideal for highway construction, utility maintenance, flagging operations, landscaping, transportation workers, and any outdoor crew that works regardless of weather conditions.
Safety Rainwear FAQs
Do hi-vis rain jackets meet ANSI visibility requirements on their own?
Yes, if they are ANSI/ISEA 107 certified. ANSI-rated safety rain jackets integrate the required fluorescent background material and retroreflective tape, so workers do not need to wear an additional safety vest over the jacket.
What is the difference between waterproof and water-resistant rain gear?
Waterproof gear (typically with a sealed seam construction and waterproof rating of 10,000mm+) prevents water penetration in sustained rain. Water-resistant gear repels light rain and moisture but will eventually wet out in heavy or prolonged rainfall.
Are your rain suits available in Class 3 configuration?
Yes. We carry ANSI Class 3 rain suits for workers on high-speed roadways, including jacket and pants sets with full sleeve retroreflective banding and chest/back fluorescent panels meeting Class 3 minimum coverage requirements.
How do I care for hi-vis rain gear to maintain its waterproofing?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent (avoid fabric softeners — they degrade DWR coatings). After washing, tumble dry on low heat to reactivate the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment. Re-treat with DWR spray when the fabric stops beading water.
Do you offer safety rain gear in extended sizes?
Yes. Our safety rainwear is available in sizes S through 5XL. For workers who layer heavily in cold weather, consider sizing up to ensure the jacket fits comfortably over insulating layers while maintaining full retroreflective tape visibility.
