N.J.S.A. 26:3D-55: This act shall be known as the "New Jersey Smoke-Free Air Act." Smoking is prohibited in indoor public places and workplaces, except where otherwise specified by this act. b. Smoking is also prohibited in any part of a building or on the grounds of any public or nonpublic elementary or secondary school, whether indoors or outdoors. The person in charge of an indoor public place or workplace must post a sign indicating "Smoking Permitted" in letters at least one inch high or use the international symbol for "Smoking Permitted" in areas where smoking is allowed.
