The 36 lb Portable Rubber Base holds an in-street pedestrian crossing panel upright in the roadway without any anchoring. Molded from durable recycled rubber, its 34″ x 14″ x 2″ footprint provides the ballast to keep a double-sided panel stable in the traveled way while still being light enough for one person to reposition. Because it is freestanding, the base is ideal for crossings that move: it can be relocated for events, pulled for winter plowing operations, or removed at night where pedestrian activity is minimal. The base accepts standard and school in-street pedestrian panels, and base and panel separate for compact stacking during transport and storage.
