What is the difference between flat and extruded street signs?
A flat street sign is a double-sided street sign made from .080” aluminum, and extruded signs are a bit stronger, made with a thickness of .080" at the center and .230" thickness at the extruded top and bottom edges.
How long will it take to receive my street sign?
Because we manufacture all of our own street signs right here in the USA, our general lead time is 3 to 5 business days. You will also be provided with an estimate for shipping time at checkout.
What colors can a street sign be?
To date, there are 4 accepted colors that meet MUTCD guidelines. Those colors are brown, green, white, and blue.
How do I mount a street sign?
Street signs are typically mounted to a pole using a street sign bracket. Mounting holes are not needed for typical street sign installation, but our street signs can be be ordered with two ⅜″ holes or two ¼″ holes for easy mounting.
What are the MUTCD requirements for street signs?
The MUTCD specifies retroreflectivity standards, font (Highway Gothic), letter size, color, and mounting height for public street signs. Private road signs are not legally required to meet MUTCD standards but compliance is recommended.
What material are street signs made from?
Most street signs are manufactured from extruded or flat-blade aluminum with retroreflective sheeting. Aluminum is rust-proof, lightweight, and designed to last 10+ years outdoors.
