Compliance
This chapter shall be known as the "New York State Clean Indoor Air Act." Unless otherwise specified by rules established by the commissioner, signs indicating "Smoking" or "No Smoking," the international no-smoking symbol, "Electronic Cigarette Use Permitted" or "Electronic Cigarette Use Prohibited," "No Tobacco Use Permitted" or "Use of Tobacco Products Prohibited," or any other necessary signs to enforce this chapter must be prominently and clearly displayed. These signs should be posted by the owner, operator, manager, or person in control of the area where smoking, electronic cigarette use, or smokeless tobacco use is either prohibited, permitted, or otherwise regulated by this chapter.
