Texas 30.07 Floor Sign

No Open Carry Floor Signs should be posted at all entrances, such as gates, fences, and storefronts, to notify customers, personnel, and visitors that open carry of firearms is not permitted on your property, according to Texas Penal Code Section 30.07. Please note, you must also purchase the Spanish version of this Floor Sign (F8153SP) to be compliant with Texas law.

Non-Slip Materials

Two grades of adhesive-backed vinyl floor signs are available. Both are protected with non-slip, water resistant laminates.

Apply to smooth, clean, dry, and even surfaces. Buyer should test in non-conspicuous area before proceeding.

When removed, there may be some residue of adhesive that can be removed with detergent, depending on the surface. It’s also possible the adhesive will remove dirt from the surface, leaving the appearance of residue.

20 Mil Heavy-Duty Semi-Permanent Adhesive-Backed Vinyl with Textured Water Resistant Anti-Slip Laminate

  • Textured surface.
  • Temporary use on low-pile carpeting. 20 mil.
  • Resistance: Water, Mild Detergents

Laminated with a textured, non-slip surface that also protects against water and mild detergents.

Apply to smooth, clean, dry, and even surfaces in excellent condition, indoors or outdoors. May also be used temporarily on most low-pile carpeting for several months. Avoid areas that are subject to traffic from heavy equipment, such as forklifts. Do not overlap floor signs.

To apply, be sure the floor is above 55° F. Clean floor prior to application. A small amount of water may be lightly sprayed over the placement area to make installation easier. Starting at one corner, simultaneously peel backing paper and apply floor sign to floor. Smooth out lightly using a squeegee from the center to the edges. Do not smooth with your hands. Continue with firm, overlapping strokes from the center out to each edge, peeling back the paper backing as you go. Be sure that all edges and corners are firmly attached.

After applying, do not scrub or polish area on or surrounding floor signs for at least 48 hours. After 48 hours, the floor sign will maintain adherence within the service temperature range of -40° to 120° F.

When removed, there may be some residue of adhesive that can be removed with detergent, depending on the surface. It’s also possible the adhesive will remove dirt from the surface, leaving the appearance of residue.

Texas 30.07 No Openly Carried Handgun Signs

On January 1, 2016, new Texas state laws went into effect allowing the open carry of firearms by licensed individuals, meaning that Texas residents can now legally carry their firearms openly or concealed so long as they are properly licensed. The new laws also continue to allow property owners and businesses to determine if they want to prohibit the concealed carry of firearms, the open carry of firearms, or both on their premises.

How does a property owner or business owner prohibit the concealed carry of firearms onto their premises?

According to the law, signs must be posted in a conspicuous manner at all entrances to the premises. These signs must have the message “Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly” printed in contrasting colors with block letters at least 1″ tall in both English and Spanish.

Why is this sign available as English only and Spanish only?

We realize that our bilingual sign may be too large for some storefronts and businesses, so SafetySign.com wanted to give business owners the versatility they required to meet space constraints while remaining compliant with the requirements of the law. Please note that you MUST purchase both the English and Spanish signs to be compliant.

The size comparison below shows how these signs compare to a 6 ft. tall individual.

How does a property owner or business owner prohibit firearms entirely?

According to the law, property owners and business owners must post both the 30.06 and 30.07 signs in both English and Spanish in a conspicuous manner at all entrances to the premises if they do not want patrons openly carrying or carrying concealed firearms.
