Texas No Gun Signs FAQ

On September 1, 2021, House Bill 1927 takes into effect, eliminating the requirement for eligible Texas citizens to obtain a state-issued license to carry handguns. Property and business owners must post signs specified by the Texas Penal Code to prohibit the carry of firearms within their premises.

Property owners must post all three signs (30.05, 30.06, and 30.07) in both English and Spanish if they want to prohibit all firearms entirely.

On January 1, 2016, new Texas state laws went into effect allowing the open carry of firearms by licensed individuals, meaning that Texas residents can now legally carry their firearms openly or concealed so long as they are properly licensed. The new laws also continue to allow property owners and businesses to determine if they want to prohibit the concealed carry of firearms, the open carry of firearms, or both on their premises.

Why is this sign only available in large sizes?

To meet the message requirements of the law and provide an eye-catching notice to visitors, the smallest size that this sign is available in is 18 × 24″ tall. It is also available as 24 × 36″ and 36 × 48″ tall for those who want a larger size for the entrance of their property. The size comparison below shows how they compare to a 6 ft. tall individual, which should help you determine which size will work best for your premises.
