2-3/8" Round Post Surface Mount Base

This 2-3/8" Round Post Surface Mount Base is made of galvanized steel for durability, can handle posts up to 8 ft. tall, and has four 5/8" mounting holes for anchoring the base to the ground. The round post opening is 2-5/8" in diameter and two 5/16" x 1" hex head bolts are included to secure the post to the base.
It can also be ordered with a concrete anchor kit which contains four 1/2" x 4" lag screws, four 3" plastic anchors, and four 1/2" washers, or it can be ordered with an asphalt anchor kit which contains four 6" anchors, four 1" hex head bolts, 4 washers and 2 bags of concrete based grout.
We do not recommend installing on brick surfaces because they are not a permanent stable surface.

Details
Round Post Surface Mount Base
The round post surface mount base is a great choice when you need to install a signpost on concrete or asphalt surfaces and don't want to cut through them to install the post. This base accepts up to 2⅜″ round posts and it is made of galvanized steel for durability. It has four 9/16″ mounting holes in each corner of the base plate for anchoring the base to the ground.
Installation
There are two options for installing your surface mount base on the ground, based on the type of surface you are installing the base in. Option 1 utilizes concrete anchors for concrete surfaces and option 2 utilizes an asphalt anchor kit for asphalt surfaces.
Option 1 – Concrete Anchors
- Tools required
- Hammer drill with ⅝″ (16mm) bit
- Small hammer
- ¾″ socket and ratchet wrench
- ½″ socket and ratchet wrench
Installation instructions:
- Place case on the surface, align to the desired position. Using the base as a template, mark the four (4) holes to establish a pattern for drill.
- Drill four (4) holes 3″ (75mm) deep using a ⅝″ (16mm) drill bit. Clean holes.
- Using a small hammer gently tap the anchors into the holes.
- Place base over the anchors. Put washer onto the lag screw. Start lag screw through a base hole into an anchor. Use ¾″ wrench to tighten lag screw snug into the base.
- Insert your signpost to the base and secure the post by tightening the two bolts on the side of the base using the ½″ socket.
Option 2 – Asphalt Anchors
- Tools required
- Hammer drill with ⅝″ (16mm) bit
- Small hammer
- ¾″ socket and ratchet wrench
- ½″ socket and ratchet wrench
Installation instructions:
- Drill holes (4) per anchor specs on the side.
- Fill holes with grout (1 bag of grout per every 2 holes).
- Push anchors in flush with the surface and wait 15 minutes.
- Attach the base to anchors by using the 1″ long bolts and washers supplied.
- Insert your signpost to the base and secure the post by tightening the two bolts on the side of the base using the ½″ socket.
