Eye Protection Signs

Choosing the right safety sign for hazardous areas can make all the difference when it comes to keeping your workers safe. Which of these signs is the best choice for helping to prevent eye injuries?

  • Eye protection signs

Although each of these will help keep you in compliance with OSHA regulations for eye safety, (A) is the best choice. Here's why:

According to the latest revision of the ANSI Z535.2 standard, the "WARNING" signal word from (A) instantly identifies a hazardous situation that if not avoided, could result in severe injury or death. This means that if eye protection is not worn in the area, it is possible that an eye injury could occur, and such an injury is considered serious by ANSI, thus making the "WARNING" signal word the only choice.

Additionally, the warning sign (A) also clearly identifies what exactly the hazard in the area is, informing workers why they need to wear eye protection beyond a certain point. It also includes a bright blue graphic depicting a person wearing eye protection, serving as a quick, at-a-glance reminder that eye protection is required in the area. Therefore, (A) represents the best choice for reminding workers that eye protection is required.
