.080″ Engineering Grade (Type I) Reflective Aluminum
These stop signs are made of a beaded material that resists fading and will not chip, crack, or rust. A Stop Sign made out of this material can last up to 7 years and service temperatures ranging from -40°F to 200°F. A road stop sign from SafetySign.com is highly resistant against the extremes of hot, cold, dry, and humid weathering conditions. Graphics on our parking stop signs, traffic signs, and stop signs will resist fading and mild chemicals.
The aluminum we use to make a stop sign is rust-free with engineering grade reflectivity that meets ASTM D4956 Type I standards but is not approved by State DOT and/or local Municipalities. Many new laws limit the use of EG materials for stop signs or traffic signs used on public property.

.080″ 3M™ High Intensity Prismatic (Type III & IV) Reflective Aluminum
A stop sign with this retro-reflectivity is 3 to 4 times brighter than an Engineering Grade (EG) stop sign and can last up to 10 years. These types of stop signs are required by many State DOTs to replace EG materials when posting new traffic stop signs. The .080″ rust-free aluminum parking and traffic stop signs include a High Prismatic Reflective over-laminate.
Our durable stop signs use aluminum that will not chip, crack, or rust. We use 3M™ High Intensity Prismatic materials, which provide long-term reflectivity and durability.
